a productive day indeed
It was a fairly productive first “staycation” day. I linked up with two recruiters and did some work for a guy that I work with. The budget for the job isn’t that much, but in these next few penny-pinching days, every little bit will count. He’s giving me a flat rate for my site work so I went at it hard finishing about 60% of the site in a few hours. I’m trying to finish it in enough time that I can turn a 20% or so profit on my normal hourly rate. It’s safe to say that I kicked my neurons into overdrive today as the clock was ticking.
The other 2 recruiters sounded promising, I meet with one tomorrow. Hopefully I can establish a good working relationship with all 3 so that they can push me work while I’m down in Brasil.
Speaking of which, my uncle knows a guy who owns places down there so maybe I can get into a place. I’m thinking of Salvador or Rio. I haven’t researched Salvador much yet but I will tomorrow. I love old cities and I hear it’s safe compared to Rio or Saõ Palo. Not that I don’t like a little danger, I want a year to get the language down.
The budgeting thing is going okay as well. I only spent $5.88 today and I’m pretty proud about it.
